This version of the Community Edition focuses on the increasing connectivity of everyday objects via the “Internet of Things”. Works such as “The Zuckerberg House” and “Alphabet Empire” are joined by new posters and two interactive applications. The app “The Internet You Don’t See” presents six films by artists that show how much of what we do every day is recorded by our devices and shared across the web.
Users of the app “Fake or Real?” have to decide whether the high-tech products they are presented with already exist or if they are made up: suitcases that closely follow your steps, forks that remind you to eat at the right pace and trousers that give feedback on yoga poses. The IoT edition asks, with a wink, whether these and other advances in civilisation will really make our lives safer and more convenient.
