Shaping the city with a plan
Today’s urban planning influences the life and climate of tomorrow, which affects children and young people the most. That is why Soko Klima encourages them to help shape their environment with a view to the future and climate issues. In this way, they become competent partners, whose suggestions and criticism are included in the planning processes.
The materials on planning, climate change and climate protection brought together in the “Soko Klima Koffer” [Soko Klima Suitcase] provide information on key issues for young city dwellers and invite them to get involved.
The suitcase was developed for schools as well as for extracurricular educational and project work (age group 8-16 years). The entire suitcase is available upon request; individual information sheets can be downloaded from the internet. In addition to the guidelines, the kit also includes a collection of methods for a systematic introduction to the project, together with tips on how to organise lessons. The three brochures “Participation”, “Climate” and “Planning and Climate” convey specialised knowledge in an age-appropriate way.
